Facebook has about 950 million users. Last year when it introduced the Timeline feature to display the Facebook pages, many users did not like the idea. While many Facebook users have reconciled to the idea that it is not possible to completely delete or remove Facebook Timeline from your account (as I mentioned in my article here), there are several other Facebook users who are still not satisfied with the Timeline feature and they keep looking for alternatives to disable it. In view of this, recently, I had described in an article how to remove Facebook Timeline in Google Chrome. After some research, I found that there is a similar method available for Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Apple’s Safari browsers also. Therefore, here I present the way to disable Facebook Timeline from Firefox, IE and Safari browsers on your computer. At the outset itself, let me tell you that this method does not remove Timeline from your Facebook account, but when you view your own Facebook pages or Facebook pages of any other user on your own computer in these browsers, you’ll not see Timeline and in its place the older classic view of Facebook (i.e., the Facebook Profile pages) will be visible. Thus, this method will disable Timeline from your own computer and not from the whole world.
(1) Disable Facebook Timeline from Mozilla Firefox browser:
Download Timeline Remove extension for Firefox from here or alternatively from here. It would be advisable if you download this extension from these sites from within your Firefox browser itself. Thereafter, follow the instructions to install this extension / add-on in Firefox. Restart the Firefox browser. And you’ll notice that Facebook Timeline is now replaced by the old classic view of Facebook on your computer when you view it from your Firefox browser. Watch this YouTube video to learn how to install this extension in your Firefox browser and please follow the instructions properly:
(2) Disable Facebook Timeline from Internet Explorer browser:
To remove or delete Facebook Timeline from your Internet Explorer browser, start your IE browser and then download Timeline Remove extension for IE from here or alternatively from here. Install this extension as per the instructions given in the following YouTube video. Restart your computer. And, thereafter, Facebook Timeline will get removed from your IE browser on your computer. In its place, you’ll see the older Facebook profile pages. Moreover, a button will be added to your IE browser to toggle Timeline on or off. Here is the YouTube video for instructions on how to remove Facebook Timeline from Internet Explorer by installing the above extension for IE:
(3) Disable Facebook Timeline from Apple’s Safari browser:
Likewise, to delete Facebook Timeline feature from your Apple Safari browser, open your Safari browser and then download Timeline Remove extension for Safari from here or from here. Follow the instructions given in the following YouTube video to install this extension. Restart your computer. Thereafter, Facebook Timeline will get removed on your computer from your Safari browser, and the older Facebook profile pages will be shown instead. A button will also be added to your Safari browser to toggle Timeline on or off. Watch this YouTube video for instructions on how to remove Facebook Timeline from Safari browser:
(4) Disable Facebook Timeline from Google Chrome browser:
In fact, I’ve already described the method to disable Facebook Timeline from Chrome browser in my previous article how to remove Facebook Timeline in Google Chrome. So, just follow those instructions in your Google Chrome browser.
Before I conclude, let me again remind you that what the methods described in this article will do is to disable Facebook Timeline by completely hiding it from your respective browser on your computer. In place of Timeline feature, on your computer, in your respective browser, you shall see the older classic view of Facebook (i.e., Facebook Profile pages as they existed prior to the introduction of Timeline feature last year). However, other people may still see Timeline in your Facebook page, unless they also install a similar extension to disable Timeline from their computer. Therefore, these free extensions will basically disable Timeline feature from your computer (and in the respective browser for which you’ve installed the extension) but not from the whole world, since unfortunately, Facebook still does not give a universal option to disable Timeline.
