Recently, I wrote an article: Basics of Facebook Timeline and its main features. That article explained what Facebook Timeline is and how to install it. However, it appears that many Facebook users are not happy with Timeline feature in Facebook. So, everybody wants to know: How to disable Facebook Timeline? How to delete Facebook Timeline? How to revert to the old style Facebook profile? And, the like. These questions are being raised by Facebook users mainly because Facebook does not provide a transparent answer or method as to how to delete or disable or remove the Timeline feature from your Facebook profile once you install it but you don’t like it. In fact, when you try to install Timeline feature, it gives you 7 days time to preview it or to immediately publish the timeline feature; but, even at that time, it does not give you an option of disabling the Timeline feature if you don’t like it even during the 7 days’ preview period. So, it appears that Facebook is at it again. Facebook and controversies go hand in hand. One fails to understand why Facebook wants to force its users to use timeline even if they don’t like it? Why not give an option to the users, and there are about 800 million Facebook users? Is it that the opinion of Mark Zuckerberg will prevail over the opinion of 800 million users? The convenience of 800 million users does not count at all? Anyway, let’s come back to the original question, how to delete the Facebook timeline? [Update: also see: How to remove Facebook Timeline in Google Chrome and Remove Facebook Timeline in Firefox, IE and Safari.]

Facebook Timeline - how to remove or delete it?
Well, there are some methods floating on the Internet that explain how to delete Facebook Timeline from your profile. I’ve tried to use these methods, however, none of these methods seem to work. One particular method that is being mentioned on several websites is to first login to your Facebook account and then visiting the Facebook Apps Developer page; and then choosing Edit Settings for Facebook App (and the like) and then deleting it. However, I found that these methods are not working. May be that, since Timeline was earlier in beta version due to which it was in the form of an app on Facebook, so these versions might have worked earlier. But, now it appears that Timeline is no more in beta version, therefore, these methods appear to be not working.
Another method being suggested is that of deactivating your Facebook account, and then again activating it. However, this method also does not work successfully to delete the timeline from the Facebook profile once you install it.
So, it appears that as of this writing, no fool-proof method is available for deleting the timeline in Facebook once you’ve installed it.
NO OPTION. PERIOD. CONTINUE WITH TIMELINE FOREOVER?
Well, as I mentioned above, Facebook is again at it by forcing something down the throats of its users. The users must be given the choice to select the type of profile they want.
Anyway. As I said, AS OF NOW, there is no method to delete your timeline on Facebook profile. But, that does not mean that there will be no method in future also. May be you could see a method tomorrow itself. Many people are trying to hack the code and find out a method. Moreover, Facebook itself may be compelled to provide a method to delete the timeline from your Facebook profile and revert to the old style Facebook profile. In fact, one can notice many Facebook users commenting on Internet about even deleting their Facebook accounts and switching to Google Plus, being frustrated with the forced timeline feature. So, it could be a gain for Google+ if Facebook persists with its adamant decision of not providing option to disable timeline feature from a profile. This is more so true, since after some time, all Facebook users will be automatically switched to the timeline feature.
So, keep watching this page. As and when there is a method to disable the timeline feature on Facebook, we’ll update this page and provide the details to you.
