When you subscribe to Apps or Games in Facebook, you’re generally required to share your email address with them. Since there are hundreds of thousands of apps / games on Facebook, if you subscribe to many of them, your email address may start getting spam mail over a period of time. You can avoid this by providing an anonymous email address to these Facebook apps and games. In fact, Facebook itself provides a method to enable you to provide an anonymous email address to these apps or games.
For example, when I tried to subscribe to CityVille game on Facebook, it asked for my email address (see following snapshot):

As you can see, under the “Send me email” section, one’s real email address is selected by default. However, if you don’t want to share your real email address with such Facebook games or apps, click the Change link under the “Send me email” section as shown in the above picture.
You’ll now be shown a list box under the “Send me email” section. Click on it, and you’ll see an anonymous email being displayed by Facebook (see following picture):

Select this anonymous email address for being provided to the games / apps in this manner.
It will ensure that your real email address remains hidden from the Facebook apps and games and only an anonymous email is provided to them. You’ll continue to receive emails sent to this anonymous email address which will be redirected to your real email address. However, your real email address will not be visible to the apps and games. Moreover, as and when you decide to unsubscribe from such apps and games, the anonymous email address provided by Facebook will get discarded and your real email address will remain safe. So, this anonymous email feature in Facebook protects your privacy.
